‘I used to be really skinny (56kg at over 170 cm) and insecure about myself with low self-esteem as people called me ‘walking chopsticks’. I started my fitness journey back in 2010, secondary 2 just to gain some size.

In 2014, I was at my all time heaviest (92 kg), overweight, as I wasn’t using a sustainable nutrition approach to gain weight. I felt out of breath just from climbing stairs or chasing for a bus. I started experiencing knee pain from carrying this weight around. I knew I had to do something about my weight.

I successfully brought my weight back down to 70 kg with a more sustainable nutrition approach. Since then, I’ve found a sustainable training & nutrition approach that I can stick to for the long run!

I’ve put in many hours of scientific research on proper training and nutrition to optimise results with many trials & errors along the journey before reaching my current physique & fitness level.’

What started off as a hobby now turned into a passion, and now I see a purpose in helping others with their wellness journey towards a stronger, healthier and happier version of themselves. There is a lot of misinformation out there in the fitness industry filled with so much information! I want to bring more light to the truth & towards creating a sustainable wellness journey!’

‘As a strong believer of mental wellness, I am a practitioner of ‘mindfulness’ throughout my day to take care of my mental health. Everything starts from our mind before the body follows along.’

Coach Phone is an ACE (American Council on Exercise) Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Metafit HIIT Coach & was Top 8 in the ‘Personal Trainer Of The Year’ by Fitness Best Asia 2021. He has also competed in multiple competitions, both local and overseas. He was the 2nd runner up in ‘Manhunt Singapore 2017’, the ‘Face of Singapore 2017’ winner, and the ‘Mr Asian International 2019’ winner

COACH HARSHNEE

‘My fitness journey started in 2019 after I approached one of my best friends (Coach Phone) for help regarding strength training. Prior to this I wasn’t doing any exercise program consistently and I felt completely lost as I was never able to achieve my fitness goals. After I graduated from LASALLE, I had some time to spare and I was determined to get myself into a consistent fitness routine and to lose the extra weight I had gained thus far. 

Through guidance from Coach Phone, I learnt about strength training- starting off with basic bodyweight movements and proper technique. From there, I progressed using heavier weights and started achieving my fitness goals at a consistent pace. I pretty much fell in love with strength training and continued training on my own for the next 2.5 years. My passion for fitness kept growing and I started learning about coaching by spending time observing S.U.N coaching sessions. I then took my ACE certification in 2021 and eventually became a S.U.N Coach.’

‘I want to help other people who are struggling with weight loss as I’ve been there myself. From trying fad diets, ‘detoxes’ and ‘cleanses’, to enduring countless amounts of cardio and yet not being able to keep my results. I want to help anyone who is stuck in a vicious cycle of losing weight and re-gaining it back as I’ve experienced it first hand myself. I want to promote a more sustainable and enjoyable approach towards getting fitter, no matter where you are in your journey. I think that fitness should be accessible to anyone and everyone.’

‘Apart from training, I love cooking! I love creating healthier versions of things and experimenting with new recipes. I especially love making healthier desserts and sweet treats as I have a huge sweet tooth.’

COACH EDISON

'My first exposure to fitness started back in my secondary school days. Like many of the kids then, I developed a strong interest in soccer. But due to my small build I was often at the losing end in this competitive sport. That was when I started to visit the gym in order to start building up my mass. However, I quickly lost motivation as I was not seeing any real improvement. It wasn't until my Poly days where I decided to make a change and join the Dragon Boating CCA, hoping to gain more knowledge and insights regarding proper fitness training.

Throughout my journey as a dragon boater I did managed to gain some muscle mass as well as basic fitness knowledge. But looking back, the progress was slow due to my lack of understanding in the importance of food nutrition and sleep quality. Eventually I reached a phase where I couldn’t see any meaningful improvement and I became less motivated to train.'

'I met Coach Phone through a fitness event. Seeing what he was doing at S.U.N made me realize that I need to find a sustainable solution which would suit me in the long run. Joining S.U.N allowed me the opportunity to research and have discussions with like minded people who are also passionate in fitness.'

'Through the years I had to learn the hard way through numerous trials & errors in order to finally learn more about my own body. Now, with the training regimes & nutrition plans from S.U.N, I am confident to help more people achieve their fitness goals in a effective manner.

I always tell myself “Never too old to learn new things”, to constantly learn and evolve. I also believe in staying physically active as a solution towards healthier life. Apart from weight training, I also enjoy sports like Futsal, Bouldering, and Rollerblading.'
